Procon-JP survey shows high price variations for basic food items

A price survey conducted by Procon-JP in João Pessoa reveals significant price variations for items in the basic food basket across 13 establishments. Margarine Primor 200g showed high volatility, with prices ranging from R$ 3.65 to R$ 6.15.

The largest price discrepancy identified in the study was for Camponesa 750g whole milk powder, which fluctuated by 32.74%, ranging from R$ 28.99 to R$ 38.48. Other notable variations included Piracanjuba 200g butter, which saw a 66.72% difference, and São Braz 500g ground coffee, which varied by 25.94%.

Additionally, the survey noted significant price differences for Vitamilho 500g cornmeal (64.75%) and type 1 parboiled rice (63.54%). The research covered 92 different products, including oil, beans, rice, coffee, pasta, sugar, and salt.
