Procon-JP survey reveals large price gaps in construction materials

The consumer protection agency in João Pessoa (Procon-JP) has released a price survey for construction materials, revealing significant price discrepancies across seven local establishments. The study covered 216 items, including cement, sand, tiles, and various tools.

Notable price variations include a 104.51% difference in 18-liter white Coral high-gloss wall paint, which ranges from R$ 447.90 to R$ 916. The largest percentage variation recorded was 183.33% for 15-liter floor glue, with prices fluctuating between R$ 12 and R$ 34.

Other significant differences were found in fiber water tanks, where 1,000-liter models showed a 64.42% variation, and in 20 kg bags of rebocal, which saw a 163.57% difference. The survey included various retailers across neighborhoods such as Torre, Mandacaru, and Geisel.
