Procon Maceió inspects private schools for contract irregularities

Procon Maceió has launched a series of inspections targeting private schools in the Alagoas capital to prevent irregularities during the school re-enrollment period. So far, 11 educational institutions have been inspected, with operations expected to continue.

Authorities are reviewing school contracts for the 2026 and 2027 academic years, tuition fee tables, and required school supply lists. The goal is to identify abusive clauses, unexpected charges, or requirements that could harm consumers and to ensure transparency for families making financial commitments.

Matheus Pita, Procon Maceió's Inspection Manager, stated that the initiative aims to curb abuses and guarantee that consumer rights are respected. Parents are advised to read contracts carefully, clarify doubts with institutions, and keep all related documentation. Complaints can be filed via Procon Maceió's WhatsApp service.
