Procon price surveys report variations in cooking gas and fuel costs

Consumer protection agencies (Procon) in Poços de Caldas and Joinville have released price surveys for cooking gas and fuels for August.

In Poços de Caldas, the average price for a 13kg cooking gas cylinder was R$ 123.40 for in-store pickup and R$ 130.00 for home delivery. Compared to August 2025, pickup prices rose by 10.49% and delivery prices by 8.45%. Significant variation exists between retailers, with a potential 5% savings for consumers who compare prices.

In Joinville, the survey covered 27 gas distributors and 102 fuel establishments. The average price for a 13kg cooking gas cylinder decreased by 0.29% for in-store pickup (R$ 118.65) and by 1.82% for delivery (R$ 134.00).

Regarding fuels in Joinville, ethanol saw the largest decrease at 3.94%, dropping to an average of R$ 4.15. Diesel prices fell by 0.43% to R$ 6.87, while common gasoline and additive gasoline saw slight reductions of 0.16% and 0.15%, respectively. Premium gasoline, however, saw a 0.23% increase, reaching an average of R$ 8.72.
