PRODA and Danseinformasjonen launch Norwegian dance history workshops

PRODA professional dance training and Danseinformasjonen have announced a new collaborative series titled ‘Dansehistoriske workshops – fra utøver til utøver’ (Dance History Workshops – From Performer to Performer). The initiative aims to explore Norwegian dance history through physical and intellectual engagement.

The inaugural workshop is scheduled for December 8 at PRODA’s facilities at Rom for dans. It will focus on the work of choreographer Ingun Bjørnsgaard, the recipient of Danseinformasjonen’s 2026 lifetime achievement award. Dancers Gry Kipperberg and Sigrid Edvardsson will lead the session, drawing on their experiences performing with the Ingun Bjørnsgaard Project during the 1990s and 2000s.

Additional workshops are planned for spring 2027, each featuring complementary programs to highlight specific artists. The series is supported by financial assistance from Sparebankstiftelsen DNB.
