Producer Andrei Arnaudov reports funding difficulties for Lili Ivanova film

Producer Andrei Arnaudov has announced significant financial challenges in securing the budget for a planned biographical film about Bulgarian pop star Lili Ivanova. Arnaudov described the process of finding sponsors and partners as a ‘Sisyphus-like task’ due to current inflation and rising production costs.

The project is a joint production between the Lili Ivanova Foundation and the production company ‘Mezhdinna Stantsiya’, owned by Arnaudov and Ivan Hristov. The film, directed by Yana Titova with a script by Emil Bonev, is intended to chronicle the key periods of Ivanova’s career and personal life. While the production officially began on April 24, the current lack of funding has left the future of filming uncertain.

Despite the financial hurdles, the production team has not announced any plans to cancel or freeze the project. The film was originally slated for a 2027 release.
