Producer Antony Perumbavoor addresses Mohanlal's reduced role in Jailer 2

Producer Antony Perumbavoor has expressed disappointment regarding the limited screen time of Malayalam superstar Mohanlal in the film Jailer 2. Following the release of the Rajinikanth-led sequel, audiences and fans noted that Mohanlal's appearance as the character Mathew was significantly shorter than anticipated.

Perumbavoor acknowledged that the reduction in the actor's role, including the absence of scenes previously featured in promotional trailers, was a source of dissatisfaction for both the audience and the production team. He stated that the team shared the lack of happiness felt by Malayali viewers.

This criticism follows similar sentiments from the film's costume designer, Jishad Shamsudeen, who questioned the decision to trim portions featuring an actor of Mohanlal's stature. While the producer indicated that Mohanlal's team was not informed of the extent of the edits, neither the director, Nelson Dilipkumar, nor Rajinikanth have commented on the matter.
