Producer Naga Vamsi of Sithara Entertainments has addressed the common practice of inflating box-office figures in the Telugu film industry. In a recent interview, Vamsi stated that the industry regularly releases promotional posters with inflated numbers, primarily to satisfy fans and keep them invested in a film's success rather than for direct financial gain.

Vamsi clarified that this practice involves minor adjustments rather than outright lies, suggesting that producers might add approximately 20% to 25% to actual collections. He questioned the necessity of publishing exact figures, noting that rounding up helps maintain the perceived success of major stars.

Discrepancies between production house claims and independent tracking sources like Sacnilk have been noted in several films. For example, 'Daaku Maharaaj' saw significant differences between the production house's reported collections and those published by Sacnilk. Similarly, the film 'Kingdom' showed a gap between official weekend claims and independent estimates. Social media users have also applied Vamsi's logic to the film 'Lenin,' suggesting its reported ₹100 crore gross might actually sit between ₹75 crore and ₹80 crore.
