Producer of Bolsonaro biopic signed business agreement with Daniel Vorcaro's firm

A confidentiality agreement signed in November 2021 reveals that Karina Gama, the producer behind the biopic ‘Dark Horse’ about former President Jair Bolsonaro, had business ties with companies linked to Daniel Vorcaro. The document, obtained by Estadão, shows Gama’s production company, Go Up Entertainment, entered an agreement to prospect new business with Master Corretora de Câmbio, Títulos e Valores Mobiliários.

The contract was signed by Ascendino Madureira Garcia, whom Federal Police investigations have identified as a financial operator responsible for moving Vorcaro’s resources into investment funds. This discovery contradicts previous statements by Gama, who had denied any commercial relationship with Vorcaro’s companies.

Negotiations for the Bolsonaro biopic began in 2022, following the signing of this agreement. The production rights were reportedly secured by Mario Frias, the former Secretary of Culture and current federal deputy, who then delegated the production to Gama. Defense lawyers for Gama stated that if the agreement existed, it was limited to business prospecting and did not result in any actual funding or sponsorship from the Master group.
