Producer prices rise in Greece and Cyprus during August

Economic data from Greece and Cyprus show varying trends in producer prices for August. In Greece, the Producer Price Index (PPI) accelerated to a 14.9 percent year-on-year increase, up from 11.8 percent the previous month. This acceleration follows a period of contraction and is attributed in part to rising costs in refined oil products.

In Cyprus, industrial output prices rose by 4.2 percent year-on-year in August. The increase was driven by all four main industrial sectors, with electricity supply leading annual rises at 11.6 percent. Water supply and materials recovery saw an 8.5 percent annual increase, while manufacturing rose by 2.2 percent and mining and quarrying by 0.8 percent.
