Producers Guild of Korea signs film co-production pacts with Italy and Sakha

The Producers Guild of Korea (PGK) has signed two separate memorandums of understanding (MoU) at the Asian Contents & Film Market during the Busan International Film Festival to expand international co-productions.

One agreement was formed with Italy’s CNA Cinema e Audiovisivo. This partnership aims to facilitate direct communication between producers in both nations, enabling them to explore joint projects and share information regarding public funding opportunities. The collaboration will include regular exchange programs, such as annual meetings and business-to-business sessions in Korea, Italy, and at international markets like Rome’s Mercato Internazionale Audiovisivo.

A second agreement was signed with the Sakha Filmmakers Association (SFA) from the Sakha Republic. This pact seeks to create a professional exchange and a direct route for international co-productions between the Korean and Sakha screen production sectors. The partnership will focus on identifying projects with international potential through showcases and producer meetings, bringing Sakha cinema to major markets such as Hong Kong Filmart and the Cannes Marché du Film.
