Proença-a-Nova municipality holds meeting with metalworking companies and training entities

The Mayor of Proença-a-Nova, João Lobo, presided over a working lunch involving metalworking sector companies and various training organizations. The meeting followed 13 technical visits to local businesses conducted between May and July by Councilor Catarina Encarnação Dias, supported by the Beira Baixa Business Association (AEBB) and the Municipal Office for Support to Entrepreneurs and Farmers.

Key discussions focused on professional retraining, human resource capacity building, and qualified technical training to better align educational offerings with industry needs. The municipality also presented its efforts regarding the expansion of industrial zones and the support provided by the AEBB under its protocol with the municipality.

Upcoming initiatives include training sessions in First Aid and Forklift Operation scheduled for late October 2026. The municipality continues to provide facilities for training and is evaluating new responses for technical specialization and professional certification to promote qualified employment and business growth within the district.
