Prof. Riziki Shemdoe urges elders to focus on community roles and supports health insurance initiatives

Prof. Riziki Shemdoe, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office (TAMISEMI), has emphasized the social role of the Tanzania Men’s Elders Association (CCWWT). Speaking at the association’s first national meeting in Dodoma, Shemdoe urged the group to focus on providing counsel, mediating community disputes, and preserving Tanzanian traditions and customs rather than engaging in political activism.

In a separate development, Prof. Shemdoe met with Sheikh Ally Hamis Ngeruko of the Mufti Bima Foundation in Dar es Salaam to discuss initiatives to support low-income citizens. The foundation aims to assist vulnerable populations in affording health insurance, aligning with the government’s Universal Health Insurance Act of 2023. Shemdoe commended the foundation’s efforts and contributed 1.5 million Tanzanian shillings to support ten beneficiaries of the program.
