Economic development and vocational training initiatives expand in Brazil and Mozambique

Various regional initiatives are focusing on economic development, professional training, and entrepreneurship across Brazil and Mozambique.

In Brazil, several programs aim to boost local economies: the FIEPB and Sebrae are partnering to map industrial opportunities in Paraíba; Pernambuco has launched an internationalization program for startups targeting Argentina; and Maranhão is working with ApexBrasil and the IDB to attract international investment. Additionally, Sebrae is supporting beauty sector entrepreneurs in Minas Gerais and fostering innovation ecosystems in Marília. Local municipalities are also providing vocational training, such as meat processing in Bragança Paulista, electrical work in Mauá, and various courses in Saquarema.

In Mozambique, economist José Sulemane has proposed that small and medium enterprises (SMEs) receive the same institutional and legal support as large-scale megaprojects to better drive national employment and economic dynamism.

Cultural and educational events are also noted, including a chess tournament in João Pessoa and a dance festival in Cabo Frio.
