Professional Bull Riders Returns to Cuiabá with R$100,000 Prize

After a nine‑year hiatus, the Professional Bull Riders (PBR) circuit resumes in Cuiabá, Brazil, as part of the Mato Grosso AgroFestival from August 7 to 9 at the Parque Novo Mato Grosso, the largest event complex in Latin America. The weekend stage offers a R$100,000 prize pool and features 25 competitors across four rounds – three qualifiers and a final for the top eight. Local rider João Paulo Velasco, currently leading the national ranking, is a marquee attraction, while international participants include Australians Zane Hall and Colby Edgard and American Chase Wimer. The overall circuit champion will receive a brand‑new Mitsubishi Triton truck and a R$200,000 bonus, and a separate “Touro do Ano” contest carries an additional R$100,000 prize. The event is organized by Instituto Cordemato in partnership with the Cuiabá municipality and the Mato Grosso state government, and will be broadcast live on BandSports.
