Professional councils urge approval of RETA transition regulations
Professional organizations representing lawyers, architects, procurators, and technical architects are urging Minister Elma Saiz to approve the regulations for the transition to the Special Regime for Self-Employed Workers (RETA) during the Council of Ministers meeting on October 20.
The proposed regulation aims to facilitate the transfer of rights for mutualists who previously contributed to social welfare mutual societies instead of the RETA. It seeks to establish the conditions for converting contributions into Social Security periods and determine the destination of accumulated funds.
More than 150,000 professionals are reportedly affected by this delay, which has persisted for over three years. The organizations emphasize that the lack of legal certainty is particularly critical for those approaching retirement age, as they require clear information regarding conversion coefficients and deadlines to make informed decisions about their professional and financial futures.
