Professional cycling sees major rider transfers and contract updates

The professional cycling transfer market is seeing significant movement across various levels of the sport. Belgian rider Niels Driesen has completed a transfer to Pinarello-Q36.5, signing a three-season contract following a breakout year at Lotto-Intermarché.

In the WorldTour, Ethan Hayter is leaving Soudal Quick-Step to join Pinarello Q36.5 through 2028. Meanwhile, Netcompany INEOS has secured Markel Beloki, the son of former pro Joseba Beloki, on a contract starting in 2027. Movistar Team has also announced the signing of 20-year-old Ecuadorian climbing talent Mateo Ramírez from the UAE Team Emirates Gen Z development squad; his contract runs until 2029.

Other notable moves include Victor Vercouillie joining the Continental team Tarteletto-Isorex for one season, and former Olympic snowboarder Evy Poppe signing with Root Academy to begin her professional cycling career in 2027.
