Professional cyclists prepare for upcoming World Championships

Professional cyclists Urška Žigart and Lejla Njemčević are preparing for upcoming World Championships.

Urška Žigart, competing for AG Insurance-Soudal, has moved into third place in the general classification at the Tour de Femmes in France. She is using the event as final preparation for the World Championships in Montreal. Žigart also noted that Tadej Pogačar is currently focused on rehabilitation following a crash at the Vuelta a España.

Lejla Njemčević, ranked 10th in the UCI world rankings, is set to compete in the marathon discipline at the World Championships in San Martino di Castrozza, Italy. Despite challenging weather conditions and a technical 95-kilometer course with 4,000 meters of elevation gain, Njemčević expressed confidence in her ability to perform in difficult, muddy conditions.
