Professional Women's Hockey League announces inaugural All-Star event
The Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL) has announced its inaugural All-Star event, scheduled for March 7, 2027, at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto. The event will feature a three-on-three tournament format involving four distinct teams: PWHL Canada, PWHL USA, PWHL International, and PWHL Rookies.
Each roster will consist of 10 players, including six forwards, three defenders, and one goaltender. Following a round-robin stage, the second and third-ranked teams will compete in a semifinal to determine who faces the top-seeded team in the championship final.
League officials noted that Toronto was selected due to its historical significance to the league, having hosted both the inaugural draft and the first-ever PWHL game. The tournament will be broadcast across North America via TSN, Radio-Canada, and Scripps Sports. Rosters will be determined through a combination of fan, player, and media voting.
