Professional workshops held in Santo Domingo
The National Union of Press Workers (SNTP) Santo Domingo Oeste branch and the Dominican Red Cross Herrera branch conducted a practical first aid workshop at Liceo Pedro Aponte. The training, led by Ambioris Correa and the Red Cross team, covered cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), wound management, hemorrhage control, and choking response. The initiative aimed to equip journalists and their families with emergency response skills for both home and professional environments. Following the session, SNTP Secretary General América Pérez announced an upcoming 16-hour first aid diploma specifically for press workers.
Separately, the Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra (PUCMM) is hosting the sixth edition of its Corporate Communication Conference on October 21 and 22 in Santo Domingo. The event focuses on political and strategic communication, institutional narratives, and business storytelling. The program includes lectures by political scientist Elvin Calcaño on communication during democratic crises and digital transformation, as well as panels featuring executives from Banco BHD, Grupo SID, and the Asociación Popular de Ahorros y Préstamos (APAP) regarding leadership and digital reputation management.
