Professor Andrew Ramroop launches ‘Bespoken’ book in New Delhi

Professor Andrew M. Ramroop, the creative director and owner of Morris Sedwell and founder of the Savile Row Bespoke Academy, recently attended the launch of his book, ‘Bespoken’, at the India Habitat Centre in New Delhi.

During the event, Ramroop shared the challenges of his journey from Trinidad to England, noting that he faced obstacles related to his appearance, skin color, and manner of speaking. He highlighted a major milestone achieved 52 years ago when he secured a position at Morris Sedwell, eventually completing a three-year university degree in just two years.

Chandradatt Singh, the High Commissioner of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago to India, remarked that Ramroop’s life serves as a lesson in perseverance, emphasizing that one's beginnings do not define their ultimate achievements. He also noted that Ramroop’s story bridges the cultural connections between Trinidad and Tobago and India. The launch was attended by several dignitaries, including Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivansh Narayan Singh and Fashion Design Council of India Chairman Sunil Sethi.
