Professor Cho Chul-hyun of Keimyung University Dongsan Hospital named among world’s top 2% scientists

Professor Cho Chul-hyun of the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Keimyung University Dongsan Hospital has been named to the 2026 list of the ‘World’s Top 2% Scientists’. The ranking was released jointly by Stanford University and the global academic publisher Elsevier.

The selection is based on an objective analysis of the Scopus database, evaluating researchers across 22 major fields and 174 sub-fields. Criteria include career-long achievements as well as recent metrics such as citation counts, number of published papers, and single-author publications.

Professor Cho, a specialist in shoulder and elbow joint diseases, has consistently published more than 10 research papers annually in major domestic and international journals regarding musculoskeletal diseases and trauma. He noted that his clinical observations often drive his research, aiming to create a virtuous cycle where academic findings improve patient treatment and quality of life.
