Professor Cătălina-Elena Lupușoru passes away

The academic community at the Grigore T. Popa University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Iași is mourning the passing of Professor Cătălina-Elena Lupușoru. Born in February 1954, she was a prominent figure in Romanian pharmacology and medical education.

Professor Lupușoru graduated from the Faculty of Medicine in Iași in 1979 with a perfect grade. Her career included significant work at the Cantacuzino Institute as a specialist in clinical laboratory, hematology, and microbiology before she joined the academic community at UMF Iași. She rose through the university ranks to become a professor in the Discipline of Pharmacology-Toxicology-Algeziology.

An extensive researcher, she authored or co-authored 55 ISI-rated scientific articles, 83 works indexed in international databases, and 21 books or book chapters. Since 2007, she also served as a doctoral supervisor in the field of Medical Sciences, specializing in pharmacology.
