Professor Ham Seung-soo Joins South Korea Education Expert Panel

Professor Ham Seung-soo of Myongji University’s Graduate School of Education has been appointed as a member of the National Education Committee’s Mid‑to‑Long‑Term National Education Development Expert Panel. He will serve on the panel until December 2028, providing advice on the formulation of the country’s long‑range education plans, including reforms to the university entrance system, policies for private schools and alternative education institutions, and broader issues such as declining school‑age population and educational inequality.

Ham, who also heads Myongji’s Education Mission Center and serves as secretary‑general of the Mission Network of private schools, said he will “discuss the educational challenges facing our society—such as the decline in school‑age population, gaps in education, future talent development, university entrance reform, and the advancement of private and alternative schools—in a balanced manner.” His expertise is expected to influence the development of sustainable education policies that harmonise diversity, autonomy and public interest.
