Professor Jin Jung-kwon criticizes President Lee Jae-myung

Professor Jin Jung-kwon of Dongyang University has issued sharp criticism regarding President Lee Jae-myung’s administration and the internal conflicts within the ruling party. In a recent social media post, Jin suggested that the President appears to have lost touch with reality, comparing the current political atmosphere to the period six months prior to the martial law declaration under former President Yoon Suk Yeol.

Jin analyzed the power struggle within the Democratic Party as a conflict between two factions: those who believe the party precedes the President, and those who believe the President precedes the party. He noted that this tension is exacerbated by issues such as potential constitutional amendments for term extensions and the pursuit of dismissing public prosecutions.

Regarding the upcoming cabinet reshuffle, Jin identified Kim Seung-won, the nominee for Minister of Justice, as a central figure. He predicted that the President’s insistence on appointing Kim to pursue the dismissal of prosecutions would lead to a further decline in approval ratings and an immediate onset of lame-duck status.
