Professor Kaye Chon awarded honorary doctorate by Prince of Songkla University

Professor Kaye Chon, Dean of the School of Hotel and Tourism Management (SHTM) at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU), has been awarded an Honorary Doctor of Philosophy (honoris causa) by Prince of Songkla University in Thailand.

The degree was presented by Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn Walailak during a graduation ceremony in Hat Yai on September 22. The university cited Chon’s lifelong dedication to advancing hospitality and tourism education and his contributions to the sustainable development of the global tourism industry.

Since joining PolyU in 2000, Chon has led the SHTM to become a top-ranked global institution, maintaining the number one position in the ShanghaiRanking’s Global Ranking of Academic Subjects for ten consecutive years.
