Professor Nazrul Islam receives Distinguished AIT Alumni Award

Professor Dr. Md. Nazrul Islam, Vice-Chancellor of Pabna University of Science and Technology (PUST), has received the ‘Distinguished AIT Alumni Award-2026’. The award was presented by the AIT Alumni Association in recognition of his significant contributions to higher education, research, and university development.

With over two decades of experience, Professor Islam has published more than 100 research papers and holds five patents. His research focuses on sustainable forestry products, bio-based materials, nanotechnology, climate resilience, and the circular bioeconomy. He has also led research projects funded by international organizations, including the World Bank and the European Union.

Professor Islam has previously been recognized on the Stanford University list of the world’s top 2% scientists and received the ‘Best Researcher Award’ from Khulna University.
