Professora Dorinha announces social and education proposals for Tocantins

Tocantins gubernatorial candidate Professora Dorinha (União Brasil) has announced several social and educational proposals during her campaign.

As part of her food security strategy, Dorinha introduced the ‘Prato Cheio’ program, which aims to establish community kitchens and popular restaurants in partnership with municipalities. The initiative intends to support families facing food insecurity by sourcing ingredients from local producers to boost regional economies. Additionally, she proposed expanding the ‘Cartão AlimenTO’ program from 7,000 to 28,000 families, providing a benefit of R$ 250, and suggested a Christmas bonus for Bolsa Família recipients.

Regarding education, Dorinha pledged to make Tocantins the state with the highest salaries for education professionals in Brazil. During a meeting with educators in Palmas, she emphasized that teacher quality is more vital to education than infrastructure. She cited her previous experience as State Secretary of Education, where she implemented teacher training programs in partnership with universities, as a foundation for her goal to achieve the top national ranking in educator remuneration.
