Thu Hà recalls early career as 1990s calendar model

NSND Thu Hà, a prominent figure in 1990s Vietnamese cinema, recently shared details regarding her early career as a calendar model. She revealed that she was discovered by photographer Mai Nam while she was a member of the Military Region 2 Art Troupe.

At the age of 18, her compensation for modeling was unconventional; rather than receiving monetary payment, her fee consisted of five calendars for each photo session, which she could distribute to friends and relatives at the end of the year. She recalled the technical challenges of the era, noting that limited film sensitivity and high costs required meticulous planning for lighting and angles, often resulting in long waiting periods for a single shot.
