Program Consultores S.A. systems hit by ransomware attack

A ransomware attack targeting the systems of Program Consultores S.A. has disrupted digital services for numerous municipalities across Argentina. The incident has left various administrative platforms, including those used for tax collection and official procedures, inoperable in several regions, notably the Punilla area.

Affected municipalities include Villa Carlos Paz, La Falda, Villa Giardino, La Cumbre, Valle Hermoso, Cosquín, and Tanti. Some local administrations reported receiving ransom demands of up to three bitcoin to restore system functionality.

Program Consultores S.A. issued an official statement clarifying that while a virus encrypted files and rendered certain servers inoperable, there was no theft or leakage of confidential information or databases. The company emphasized that the attack affected the hosting infrastructure rather than the security of its applications and stated the incident is unrelated to known PHP vulnerabilities.
