Progress and Socialism Party addresses Sahara issue and government program
The Progress and Socialism Party held a political bureau meeting on October 28, 2026, to discuss several key national issues in Morocco. Regarding the Sahara issue, the party expressed its aspiration for the upcoming UN Security Council decision on October 31 to facilitate a final resolution to the conflict, based on the autonomy project under Moroccan sovereignty.
The party also reviewed the government's program following its parliamentary installation. While expressing constructive support for the program's political, social, and developmental directions, the party emphasized that its support is contingent on the government's ability to translate commitments into tangible actions for citizens.
Additionally, the party commented on the 2027 finance bill, describing it as “promising and ambitious,” and noted positive signs in the national political debate, which it believes could help reconcile citizens, particularly the youth, with political life.
