Progress and Socialism Party unveils Moroccan election platform

The Progress and Socialism Party in Morocco is preparing for the upcoming legislative elections, aiming to position itself as a viable political alternative. Party Secretary-General Mohamed Nabil Benabdallah stated that the party is focusing on renewing its political elite by recruiting young talent, women, and experienced professionals, while maintaining current representatives who have proven their local presence. The party emphasizes integrity and ethical standards in its candidate selection process.

The party’s electoral platform centers on social justice, economic sovereignty, and improving citizens' purchasing power. Key proposals include increasing the minimum wage (SMIG and SMAG) and civil servant salaries by 15 percent, and raising social support for vulnerable families to 1,000 dirhams per month.

To strengthen the social state, the party plans to expand social protection to include self-employed workers and entrepreneurs. Economic goals include increasing the industrial sector's contribution to 20 percent of GDP and formalizing 20 percent of the informal economy. Additionally, the program outlines significant investments in culture and sports, such as creating 5,000 local sports facilities and providing annual cultural vouchers to two million low-income families.
