Progress and Socialism Party warns of electoral corruption in Morocco
The Progress and Socialism Party (PPS) has issued a warning regarding what it describes as “shameful political practices and illegal methods” spreading within the electoral landscape in Morocco. During a recent political bureau meeting, the party expressed concern that these behaviors, including the use of money and unethical inducements, could deepen political apathy and undermine public trust in the democratic process.
The party criticized “election traders” and accused the current government of normalizing corruption and rent-seeking, while serving the interests of “oligarchic lobbies” at the expense of the middle and vulnerable classes. PPS emphasized that upcoming legislative elections must serve as a platform for the most capable and honest candidates to address the nation's democratic, economic, and social challenges.
To prepare for the upcoming campaign, the party announced it will hold a meeting at its national headquarters in Rabat on September 2 to present its political and electoral program to the public.
