Progress Software updates Telerik and Kendo UI with AI agent capabilities
Progress Software has released updated versions of its Telerik and Kendo UI platforms, introducing features designed to support applications used by both human users and AI agents. The update shifts focus from simple AI-assisted coding toward building production software that agents can interact with directly.
Key technical additions include the Progress Agentic UI Generator, which embeds accessibility into the UI creation process, and WebMCP, a tool intended to allow AI agents to interact with application interfaces through stable surfaces rather than unreliable screen-scraping methods. For debugging, Fiddler Agent Skills provide coding assistants with visibility into network traffic to identify and propose fixes for issues.
The release also features Telerik Document Processing Libraries, which allow for structured data extraction and document generation without external AI services. Additionally, the company has introduced automated conversion tools for modernizing legacy WinForms applications and Agentic RAG capabilities to help applications converse with unstructured enterprise data.
