Progressive Slovakia and Hungarian Alliance Explore Cooperation, Analyst Hrabko Says

Political analyst Juraj Hrabko stated that a cooperation agreement between Progressive Slovakia (PS) and the Hungarian Alliance would be mutually beneficial and could prevent the votes of Slovakia's Hungarian minority from being lost in parliamentary elections. He described the talks as rational, noting that “both sides must agree; if even one hesitates, the deal will not happen.” Hrabko dismissed opposition criticism as irrelevant, calling rumors about party leader László Gubík’s possible alignment with former Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán “fairy‑tale” speculation. He argued that the coalition would strengthen both parties' positions and increase competition for the governing coalition.

Hrabko also commented that the focus of the governing coalition and Prime Minister Robert Fico should shift to broader policy issues rather than seeking crises in every dispute.
