Project Eleven acquires Riva Labs to bolster post-quantum security
Project Eleven, a New York-based firm developing quantum-resistant infrastructure for blockchains, has acquired Riva Labs to expand its post-quantum security capabilities. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The acquisition integrates Riva Labs’ expertise in post-quantum signatures, multi-party computation (MPC), account abstraction, and wallet infrastructure. Riva Labs has focused on translating cryptographic research into practical applications for Ethereum and other public blockchains, including demonstrations of post-quantum signing on consumer hardware.
Project Eleven aims to address the security risks posed by future quantum computing, which could potentially use Shor’s algorithm to derive private keys from public keys in current elliptic-curve cryptography systems. The company intends to unify expertise across signatures, key management, and protocol infrastructure to facilitate a practical transition to post-quantum standards. Riva Labs also incorporates AI into its research and engineering processes to accelerate cryptographic development.
