Project Hunter creates Golf GTI-styled robotic lawn mower

A German YouTuber known as Nils from the channel Project Hunter has created a custom robotic lawn mower styled after the iconic Volkswagen Golf GTI. The project utilizes an aluminum chassis and a brushless motor system for cutting.

The robot is equipped with advanced features, including four ultrasonic sensors for obstacle detection, contact switches on the bumpers, and a current sensor to trigger emergency stops during electrical surges. To protect local wildlife, it includes a thermal camera paired with an LED matrix to detect animals like hedgehogs, allowing the machine to stop and restart automatically.

Users can control the device via a smartphone application to manage video feeds, speed, battery levels, lights, and the horn. The creation gained recognition from Volkswagen, which shared the project on its official Facebook page and sent the creator an authentic GTI emblem for the vehicle.
