Project Management Institute announces CEO transition
The Project Management Institute (PMI) has announced that Pierre Le Manh will step down from his roles as President and CEO, effective September 30, 2026. Le Manh joined the organization in September 2022 and has spent four years leading the development of PMI’s current strategy, expanding capabilities through acquisitions and partnerships, and addressing the impact of AI on the profession.
Johannes Heinlein, currently the Chief Growth Officer, has been appointed as the interim President and CEO, also starting September 30, 2026. Ike Nwankwo, President of the PMI Board of Directors, expressed gratitude for Le Manh’s leadership, noting that the organization is well-positioned for the future.
Le Manh stated that he is leaving to pursue a new substantial challenge. The Board of Directors will conduct a search for a permanent President and CEO and expects to share more details in the coming months.
