Projimo LLC releases book on IT and operational business succession
Projimo LLC has released a new book titled ‘You Can Hand Over Shares, But You Can’t Hand Over How to Run the Company,’ authored by representative Takahiro Nishikawa. The book focuses on the often-overlooked aspects of business succession, specifically the transfer of IT systems and operational workflows.
Addressing a critical gap in traditional succession planning—which typically covers taxes, legalities, and M&A but neglects daily operational knowledge—the book introduces a ‘Predecessor Dependency Map.’ This tool helps successors identify essential tasks held exclusively by the former president, such as domain ownership, pricing standards, and system access.
The release follows data from Tokyo Shoko Research indicating that in 2025, a record 67,210 companies ceased operations or dissolved, with 52.8% of those being profitable at the time of closure. The author suggests that a lack of structured operational handover is a key factor in these closures.
