Prokopis Pavlopoulos calls for International Law to resolve Cyprus issue
Former President Prokopis Pavlopoulos stated that the Cyprus issue can and must be resolved only through the full application of International Law and European Law. Speaking in Nicosia during an event celebrating the 150th anniversary of the newspaper ‘Estia’, Pavlopoulos emphasized that a fair and sustainable solution requires secure institutional responses based on these legal frameworks.
He noted that International Law is an inseparable part of the European acquis, as the European Union is a legal entity and a full member of the international community. Pavlopoulos also expressed support for the national position maintained by the government of President Nikos Christodoulides regarding the minimum preconditions for a resolution.
