Prokopis Pavlopoulos releases new study on the Rule of Law
Prokopis Pavlopoulos, former President of the Republic and Professor Emeritus at the University of Athens, has released a new legal study titled ‘The Weakening of the Regulatory Power of the Rule of Law’. Published by Nomiki Vivliothiki, the work examines the decline of representative democracy and its institutions.
The study identifies the weakening of the Rule of Law as a primary cause for this decline, noting the consequences for the principle of legality and the protection of fundamental human rights against state arbitrariness. Pavlopoulos utilizes an interdisciplinary approach, combining legal science with economics, technology, and physical science.
Furthermore, the research explores the influence of economic globalization and the technological revolution on legal regulatory power. It also seeks to draw connections between legal science and the arts, specifically examining how methods from Cubism in painting and contrast in music might contribute to the interpretation of the Rule of Law.
