Proložac road asphalt completed, Sarajevo Ars Aevi bridge reopens
In the town of Proložac, Croatia, the county road ZC 6157 received its final asphalt layer as part of a larger agglomeration‑area project. New pavement, sidewalks, a closed drainage system and other road‑side facilities were installed, and the road is expected to improve safety for drivers and pedestrians. Final traffic signs are to be placed in the coming days before the road opens to regular traffic.
In Sarajevo, Bosnia‑Herzegovina, the pedestrian Ars Aevi bridge – originally designed by architect Renzo Piano – was reopened after a full reconstruction. Decayed wooden decking was replaced with new, moisture‑resistant timber, the steel structure was sandblasted and given anti‑corrosion coating, and the surrounding area was landscaped. Although the reopening was delayed beyond the initially promised date, the bridge is now safe for public use.
