Prologis makes £14bn final offer for UK logistics group Segro

US‑based logistics REIT Prologis has submitted a "best and final" takeover proposal valuing FTSE 100 property company Segro at roughly £14 billion. The bid offers an exchange of 0.0920 Prologis shares for each Segro share together with a partial cash component of £3.5 billion, representing about 25 % of the total consideration. The offer reflects a 14 % premium to Segro’s pro‑forma net asset value and a 39 % premium to its closing price on 23 June. Prologis has asked the UK Takeover Panel to extend the “put up or shut up” deadline of 5 pm on 22 July to allow further negotiations. While Segro’s board has not yet responded, major shareholders such as Norges Bank and APG Asset Management have urged both parties to engage in constructive dialogue. If accepted, existing Segro shareholders would hold around 8.9 % of the enlarged Prologis entity.
