Prologis to develop logistics facility in Sakai, Osaka
Prologis has announced plans to develop a new logistics facility, ‘Prologis Park Sakai’, in Sakai City, Osaka Prefecture. Construction is scheduled to begin in June 2027, with completion expected by the end of February 2029.
The four-story facility will have a total floor area of approximately 36,700 square meters. It is designed to accommodate both Build-to-Suit (BTS) and multi-tenant requirements, catering to various industries and logistics needs.
Located in an inland area of Sakai, the site offers strategic access to the Hanshin Expressway, the Hanwa Expressway, and Kansai International Airport. The facility aims to leverage the high population density of the region to ensure a stable labor force and efficient distribution to consumer markets.
Key technical features include dual-sided loading bays on the first floor, two freight elevators, and four vertical conveyors. To improve the working environment, the warehouse will be equipped with air conditioning and ceiling fans. Sustainability and disaster prevention measures include smart LED lighting, solar power installations, and emergency earthquake warning systems.
