ProLogium begins mass production of high-density solid-state batteries

Taiwanese company ProLogium Technology has announced the mass production of its Generation 3.5 Lithium Ceramic Battery (LCB) at its facility in Taoyuan. Third-party testing by TÜV reported that the 185.4 Ah large-format cell achieved a gravimetric energy density of 381 Wh/kg and a volumetric energy density of 903 Wh/L.

In safety and stability testing, UL Solutions verified the cell against Chinese standards, noting a mass loss of less than 0.05% after six hours at 120 °C under vacuum, meeting the requirements for solid-state classification. The company utilizes its proprietary Logithium architecture, which combines a ceramic separator with a specialized peripheral frame structure.

While the technology represents a significant leap in energy density compared to current LFP and NMC systems, the current production scale is limited. The Taoyuan plant operates with an annual capacity of 0.5 GWh, which serves as a pilot-scale industrial production rather than the massive gigafactories utilized by competitors like CATL or BYD.
