PROMESE/CAL launches RD$1,251 million tender for medical supplies

The Essential Medicines Program and Logistics Support Center (PROMESE/CAL) has launched a national public tender worth RD$1,251 million to acquire medicines and sanitary supplies. The procurement process, identified as PROMESE/CAL-CCC-LPN-2026-0017, covers 384 categories of medical items intended for public hospitals and 'Farmacias del Pueblo'.

The tender aims to meet the demand of the public health network between December 2026 and June 2027. José Luis López Pérez, Director General of PROMESE/CAL, stated that early procurement is vital to ensuring medicine availability and service quality. This process complements a previous tender and is part of a broader strategy to ensure the national public health system is supplied through 2028.
