Prometheus statue being assembled near SpaceX Starbase

A 15-meter bronze statue of Prometheus is being assembled near the SpaceX Starbase facilities in Boca Chica, Texas. The monument is an independent project by the Paris-based sculpture studio Atelier Missor, rather than a commission from SpaceX or Elon Musk.

The project, estimated to cost approximately $1 million, uses classical techniques to symbolize technological progress and human ambition. Portions of the statue were cast in France and shipped to Texas for final assembly. The choice of Prometheus, who famously brought fire to humanity, is intended to mirror the spirit of space exploration and the pursuit of knowledge.

Elon Musk has expressed support for the initiative on the X platform, responding to news of the construction with the word “Cool”. Following this project, Atelier Missor has proposed a more ambitious endeavor: the reconstruction of a 30-meter Colossus of Rhodes, provided they are granted the necessary space and funding.
