Promipyme distributes RD$55 million in credits to entrepreneurs in San José de Ocoa
The National Council for the Promotion and Support of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (Promipyme) has distributed RD$55 million in credits to 265 entrepreneurs in the province of San José de Ocoa. The funding is part of a program aimed at productive inclusion and economic diversification in sectors such as tourism, agriculture, industry, commerce, and services.
According to Promipyme Director General Fabricio Gómez Mazara, 65% of these specific loans were awarded to businesses led by women. He noted that this reflects increasing female leadership within the MSME sector.
Regarding the broader administration, Gómez Mazara reported that the institution has accumulated total disbursements of RD$20,637 million. Of that total amount, 51% has been allocated to businesses led by women.
