Pronabec announces 6,000 Beca 18 scholarship vacancies for 2027

The National Program of Scholarships and Educational Credit (Pronabec), under Peru's Ministry of Education, has launched the 2027 call for the Beca 18 and Special Scholarships program. The initiative offers 6,000 vacancies for Peruvian students with high academic performance who are in situations of poverty, extreme poverty, or vulnerability.

Winners will receive funding for undergraduate studies at eligible universities, institutes, or higher education schools. This coverage includes academic expenses such as enrollment, tuition, and degree attainment. For those qualifying under poverty or extreme poverty via the Sisfoh system, additional benefits are provided, including English language studies and non-academic costs such as food, housing, transportation, laptops, and study materials.

The application process is free and virtual, with a deadline of 11:59 p.m. on Friday, October 16. There are nine different application modalities catering to various demographics, including specific age requirements for certain categories and no age limit for others, such as those with disabilities or specific regional programs. Eligible applicants include students in their final year of secondary school or recent graduates. The National Preselection Exam is scheduled to take place in person across the country on Sunday, November 22.
