New York metal band Prong has released a new single titled ‘Fear The Sun’ in anticipation of their upcoming self-titled album, scheduled for release on November 6 via Napalm Records.

Lead singer and guitarist Tommy Victor described the track as a modernized version of the groove metal foundations the band established with ‘Beg To Differ’. The song is intended as a tribute to their home city, evoking the energy of the legendary CBGB venue.

The upcoming album features a variety of styles, including thrash, industrial elements with textured synthesizers, and melodic passages. Other tracks mentioned include ‘The Banner’, ‘New Commission’, ‘The Uprising’, ‘Uncertain Truth’, ‘Proportionate Response’, ‘Simulated Drowning’, and ‘Our Continuance’.
